Knitcrate Yarn Club Membership, where have you been all my fiber journey?
Am I the only one who, after a few years of crocheting/knitting, frequently has those, “man, I wish I did _____ when I first started” moments? This week I realized that at the very top of my list would have been purchasing a yarn club membership. Being in a yarn club exposes you to so many more fibers and design styles that would have made me a more well-rounded maker much sooner. Again, I ask, Knitcrate Yarn Club Membership, where have you been all my fiber journey?
Clueless is not even the word
My crochet journey started on Amazon and at the time I did not know the difference between a fingering weight and DK weight. I was drawn to skeins based on color and the convenience of Prime Shipping. Walking into an actual yarn store months later and getting to feel and compare different fibers and blends made me really wish I had waited. Prime just has a way of drawing us in, doesn’t it? I love Vanna’s Choice and all the colors that I’ve accumulated but I wish I saved room for acrylic and wool blends or even hand-dyed fibers. The ability to touch and feel and learn the likes and dislikes of a yarn base before buying heaps (yes heaps!) would have really come in handy a couple years ago.
Everything included except tools
There are four Knitcrate membership types. I signed up for the Knitcrate Yarn Club Membership. This was perfect for me because it comes with a crochet and a knit pattern with enough premium yarn to do either. Ideal if you want to try your hand at knitting or vice versa. Membership also includes access to both patterns, coupons from the designers and 25% off their Member Central Shop. You can also check out the Artisan Crate which is geared towards knitters, with two knit patterns, one beginner, and one intermediate. I really wish there was an Artisan crate for crocheters but I am excited to try my hand at these socks. I may use the left over for a little sweater for Moo.
If you are just starting your crochet journey and would like to learn about different fibers at a bargain, I would definitely sign up for Knitcrate. You get a lot for your money. I could not believe after buying hand-dyed skeins for the past few months that I was getting two skeins for the price of one. Did I mention that they ship free worldwide?!? If your onboard to try them out, hop on over to the site, and sign up. Use Coupon Code: SNOWFLAKE20 to save 20% off your first order. This is one of the few times that I will encourage you to shop and its really because you are getting such a good deal. If you’re already a member, leave a comment, and let me know what you think about this beautiful colorway.
